Video interview with two Philadelphia education leaders

Saturday, November 15th, 2008 at 12:00 pm - by Matt Campbell. Filed under: Education, It's Our City on TV.

It’s Our City broadcast its 3rd TV program last night on WHYY-TV.  In case you missed it, we’ve posted the links to the video and to an audio file. The program featured Arlene Ackerman, the Superintendent of the Philadelphia School District an with Lori Shorr, the Chief Education Officer for Mayor Michael Nutter. The two discussed everything from Nutter’s goal to halve the student dropout rate, to why the district has a teacher shortage, and what’s being done to stem school violence. The interview was recorded at the WHYY studios on 10/3/08.
