Many Philadelphians were out with their video cameras early this morning as thousands of fans celebrated across the region. The largest post-game gathering occurred on Broad st just south of City Hall. There fans cheered, danced in the streets, shot of fireworks. There were some unruly fans. Philadelphia’s police commissioner Charles Ramsey says officers made 76 arrests and 10 businesses were damaged during Wednesday night’s raucous citywide celebration. Other incidents that were reported include windows were smashed at a bank, and at a luggage store. Several vehicles were overturned and the windows of a TV van were smashed. Also, dozens of huge street planters were flipped over and some bus shelters were damaged or destroyed.
It’s Our City has found a number of good videos that captured some of the enthusiasm of the early morning World Series celebrations in Philadelphia. Here are some of our favorites.

WHYY’s multi-blogging cyborg Dan Pohlig has just posted this video to our sports blog Unobstructed View. This video is probably my favorite, because Dan rode his bike from South Philadelphia up Broad St to the mayhem near city hall. It’s one of the best examples of what it was like along a huge stretch of the main north-south boulevard in Philadelphia.
