The Philadelphia Phillies beat the Tampa Bay Rays tonight 4-3 in Game 5 to win the World Series.

The game in Philadelphia has set off celebrations into the streets of South Philly with fans setting off fireworks. The Associated Press reports that people are spraying beer and waving their rally towels. Philadelphia police call the crowds loud and rowdy.

Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter says a parade will be held Friday at noon. The route will begin at 20th and Market st and work its way to Broad st and finish at the sports complex in South Philadelphia.

Philly.com blog From the Source is live blogging vandalism reports. So far, mostly minor damage like damaged bus shelters, traffic light pulled down, and bottles being thrown at police.

Fox29 has a live video feed from its helicopter over Broad st. The last time I looked you could see a bonfire on Broad st. (The video feed ended 130a)

Loud, yes. Rowdy, a bit. Happy, definitely. Alan, I went out there and rode my bike up Broad Street to Center City. I’ve never seen so many people be so loud and so celebratory in one place. This is truly a night to remember.

Thanks Dan. Don’t get hit by a beer bottle. and remember just because you’re on a bike doesn’t mean you can ignore traffic laws.

A boring world series, with a lot of no name players.
