Jury selection to resume in Vince Fumo trial

Monday, October 20th, 2008 at 4:45 am - by Matt Campbell. Filed under: Courts.

The on-hold trial of Pennsylvania State Senator Vincent Fumo is scheduled to resume this morning in U.S. District Court in Philadelphia. The trial was put on hold after U.S. District Judge William H. Yohn Jr., had “recused” himself on September 29. The new judge is Ronald Buckwalter.

Federal prosecutors say the 65-year-old Fumo misused more than $3.5 million in funds and resources from the Senate, a charity and a museum. Fumo is charged with 139 counts of fraud and corruption. Fumo denies doing anything illegal.
