Confirmed: Sarah Palin will appear on Saturday Night Live

Friday, October 17th, 2008 at 1:00 pm - by Matt Campbell. Filed under: Politics.

Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin is scheduled to be on this weekend’s broadcast of “Saturday Night Live.” Yes, that’s the same show that is in ratings heaven for its past parodies of Palin by  Tina Fey. A John McCain campaign spokeswoman, Jill Hazelbaker, today confirmed Palin’s appearance.

So now the speculation can begin on how SNL will cash in on what will be one of their most watched episodes ever. Clearly the cast will have to do some sort of “Palin meets Palin” skit. But how would it go? Maybe….something set in the future like Vice President Sarah Palin hires actress Tina Fey to be her body-double on her reprise appearance before the the Philadelphia Flyers fans. Anyways, It’ll be fun to see what SNL comes up with and I love that candidates have enough of a sense of humor to appear on these shows.
