The producer of the hit series “The Wire” will speak in Princeton with Philly’s mayor

Sunday, October 12th, 2008 at 10:01 am - by Matt Campbell. Filed under: Entertainment.

Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter will join David Simon, the producer of HBO’s The Wire, to discuss “Policy and Politics in America’s Urban Crisis” on Thursday at Princeton University. This did not sit well with Baltimore Sun columnist Laura Vozzella who asks “Why not Sheila Dixon?.” Apparently Dixon was not invited. Vozella writes “She knows policy, politics, urban crises. And she happens to be mayor of the city where the series was actually set.”

When: Thursday, Oct. 16, 2008, 4:30 p.m.

Where: Princeton University’s Dodds Auditorium in Robertson Hall

Moderator: Julian Zelizer, a professor of history and public affairs at Princeton.
