YOU MAKE THE CALL
Video of Comcast SportsNet
Videos from people in the stands
(some people have reported broken links, but they all work, I believe some may have periodic problems due to heavy demand on YouTube for these)
fyi: A cool thing to try is play them all simultaneously I think this might actually simulate what it was like to be in the Wachovia Center.
WHAT OTHERS ARE SAYING
NY Daily News: Palin booed
CNN: Palin booed
Fox News: booed and cheered
Phila Inquirer: booed and cheered
News Journal: booed and cheered
E&P: Palin booed
LA Times: Palin booed
NY Times: Palin booed
Politico: Palin booed
Now for the ultimate softball interview. Sarah Palin was interviewed by Comcast SportsNet’s Coatesy’s Corner segment after she dropped the hockey puck. She was not asked about her mixed reception on the ice.
————Original story———–
Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin dropped the ceremonial puck at tonight’s Philadelphia Flyer’s game. As to whether she was booed? We’re going to have to wait for cell phone videos later. Why? That’s because organizers of tonight’s game cranked up the music so loud that all TV viewers could see was Palin smiling and tossing the puck on the ground and walking out.
The problem with trying to know whether she got booed was made as difficult as possible. The only TV channel showing this was Comcast SportsNet which is owned by Comcast Spectacor which own the Flyers who invited Palin. So that’s why the music was so loud.
So, I”m not going to say she was or wasn’t booed. I’ll be looking for videos and Twitter comments to see what really happened. But we can say that the McCain/Palin ticket escaped an embarrasing moment on TV because even if we see YouTube videos tomorrow with people booing like crazy in the upper decks, it was not noticeable on TV.
It's Our City is a project that uses TV, Radio and Web
to promote civic engagement in the Philadelphia region.

Text message from inside the arena said the booing was the loudest they’d ever heard. (My comment: what kind of person would bring a child out to get booed by Flyers fans? I am sick of her using her children as props.)

dianarwallach @ItsOurCity Yes, it sounded like Flyers fans did in fact boo Palin. But the stadium pumped up the music to drown out the sound. Booooo…

attila @ItsOurCity The only thing I could gather from those videos is that Obama supporters had better seats and signs. How’d they get those in?

When is the media going to comment on how abusive it must be these children to be paraded around - aren’t they supposed to be in high school &/or pre-school. And the baby - with the disabilities that are evident - loud stimulus and mobility are very abberrant to the child.
