Last night millions of Americans posted their real time reactions to the Vice Presidential Debate on their Twitter accounts. WHYY tracked Philadelphia area micro-bloggers and re-posted their comments on our website. After reviewing the list, I felt compelled to share with you some of the best I saw. So here’s the top 10 from the It’s Our City Debate Twitter event.

Sigh. It fascinates me that so many people are unfamiliar with the term Bosniak, which is the word for Bosnian Muslims, and instead of actually looking it up, they act like it’s a made-up word that should be mocked. C’mon, guys. You’re embarrassing yourselves.

Thank you so much Sasha. I had never heard the term Bosniak till last night. But I looked up the term Bosniak in the CIA World Fact Book. For Bosnia and Herzegovina, it has this description of the ethnic breakdown. “Bosniak 48%, Serb 37.1%, Croat 14.3%, other 0.6% (2000) note: Bosniak has replaced Muslim as an ethnic term in part to avoid confusion with the religious term Muslim - an adherent of Islam.” Bravo Sasha!
