John McCain and Sarah Palin will campaign in Media, PA this afternoon

Palin/McCain campaigning together

Republican presidential candidate John McCain and his VP running mate Sarah Palin will visit Media this afternoon at 4:00pm. Palin has turned out to be a “game changer” candidate and injected excitement into McCain’s campaign. So it’s no surprise he hasn’t left her side since the GOP pow-wow in Minneapolis. The candidates will be at the Delaware County Courthouse on West Front Street.

Yesterday, McCain was in Philadelphia greeting supporters outside of Independence Hall.

A new poll shows Barack Obama leading John McCain in Pennsylvania 50%-41%. But one interesting finding, as the Philadelphia Inquirer points out, is that Republicans in Pennsylvania are slightly more committed to McCain than Democrats to Obama. While 87 percent of likely Democratic voters back Obama, the GOP figure is 92 percent behind McCain.

Could race be a problem for democrats? In today’s Philadelphia Daily News, Dave Davies reveals that some Democrats in Northeast Philadelphia are still wary of Obama. One resident said “It’d be disgusting to get a man named Barack Obama as president of the United States,” she said. “No way!.”

Share with us your thoughts on the presidential race. Are you more likely to vote for John McCain or Barack Obama? Does Sarah Palin make you more likely to vote for McCain? If you’re a democrat, do you have a problem voting for an African-American for President? Do you know of any democrats who are wavering because Obama is black?

I’ll vote for McCain and Palin. The Dems are at it again. Did you see the Emmys. So predictable.

Obama is the most reasonable choice. Palin does not help the McCain ticket because she is vapid and not an expert in any area. Both McCain and Palin are wrong on the economy and that’s all that really matters.

  3. I hate election time

Great! I have business to take care of in Media this afternoon with two appointment! Traffic is going to be a freaking mess! Can’t they just come back another day? I mean if I had known last week setting these appointments, I wouldn’t of.

95% of those in the entertainment field (movie, TV, music, theatre) along with Hollywood are Dems. It’s America - they have the right to say what they want to say. At least the last time I checked you can speak your mind. You don’t like someone talking against the way you think, either pay not attention to it or stop watching TV, stop going to the movies and theatre. Better yet, move to a country where no on can say a thing about the government. There’s plenty to chose from.

I would like to see McCain and Palin this afternoon. I’m wondering if they will answer any real questions? I’ve yet to hear Palin answer a single news report’s questions on the road. I’d like to hear McCain’s rationale for his campaign instructing Palin not to answer questions about the Troopergate controversy in Alaska, to a Republican panel she invited to make the investigation in the first place. I’d like to hear both of them explain which theory it is that supports Gov. Palin’s attempt to fire the police department’s chief: that he wouldn’t go outside civil service procedures and fire the trooper, or that the chief traveled to Washington to get money to fight rape without permission from the Governor … even though a travel voucher was approved for him.

I’d like to know from McCain the basis for his claim last week that the economy was strong. I’d like to know from McCain why he wanted to fire the conservative Republican who heads the SEC (Cox) who cannot be fired by the President absent gross misconduct. Does McCain know something he isn’t telling about Cox’s conduct?

There are lots more questions. Hope the folks in Media get answers because the rest of us have not.

I attended the rally today. I felt sick to my stomach - of course all Americans love this great country and are very thankful to our military. McCain, though, apparently doesn’t think our troops are important enough to get a college education, as he voted AGAINST it in the GI BILL!! IT is time McCain and Palin STOP using patriotism and militarism to bolster their polls. CHEAP. Palin using her son’s service is CHEAP.

I am also a student in a nearby college. I am sad i went to the rally today. SUCH A WASTE of TIME.
Mccain and Palin did not say anything substantive at all. They were all about listing all the problem in this country (problems we inherited while McCain has been in Congress for 24 years!!! Where was MCCAIN?? Where was the republican leadership for the las t EIGHT years???)

McCain and Palin had no solutions. Just empty rhetoric and promises lost in the chants of USA USA USA.

PS The stock market plunged another 327 points today, Lehman just agreed to be sold to Japanese titan Nomura, dollar value plunged, oil soared, unemployment rose to 6.1%, and McCain is oblivious. Palin has no answers, she just likes to point fingers and call herself a hockey mom. McCain thinks the solution is to ‘fire Cox’ whoopdeedo o yeah, thanks! Oh and don’t forget the “fundamentals are strong!” this chaotic market is “all psychological” America, you are dreaming - lost your job? DREAM! Can’t afford gas AND food AND rent AND clothing for your kids? DREAM! Don’t worry, according to Phil Gramm, McCain’s top Economic Adviser and Lobbyist for Swiss Titan UBS, “America is a nation of whiners!” Republicans say stop whining! Suck it up! USA USA USA

Change you can trust, a slogan that could turn around McCain’s campaign?

Change you can trust contrasts beautifully with change you can believe in.

Everyone wants change, only with a team that we can trust to implement it.
If you’re in a tough spot, you want someone to come to help you that you can trust, not someone you believe may want to help you.

John McCain, polls show, is rated as highly qualified and highly trusted. This slogan, change you can trust, reinforces this message.

It can even be added on to John McCain’s current slogan. Country first, change you can trust. Or perhaps Change you can trust that puts Country first. Or how about Change you can trust that puts America first

It implies without directly saying it that the other side is perhaps a little less trustworthy.

It also reinforces the message that in a time we are facing battle with Al Qaeda worldwide and two conventional wars, John McCain is a commander in chief you can trust to lead us to victory.

There are 30 days left before Election Day. Sarah Palin’s debate performance was good, but it’s really up to John McCain to win.

    CHANGE You Can TRUST

CHANGE You Can TRUST to put COUNTRY FIRST

CHANGE You Can TRUST to put AMERICA FIRST

    CHANGE - TRUST
    COUNTRY FIRST

    John, are you listening???
