Holy cow! Something’s not right in Philadelphia City Council. Yesterday in their first meeting back since the summer break, Latrice Bryant, an African-American legislative aide to Councilman Wilson Goode Jr held up a sign reading “Jeff Cole KKK” during the meeting. So who is Cole? He is a white TV reporter for Fox29 who has recently done reports suggesting Bryant may not being documenting her time accurately. Ok, that may be an understatement, Fox29 has video of her walking into Councilman Goode’s house with a case of beer, and on another day she is seen leaving his house at 11:30am. The underlying issue is could Goode be having an affair? But that’s not really my business. But what is, is yesterday’s council meeting where Bryant decided to go on the offense with her sign suggesting that Fox29 and its reporter Jeff Cole are racists. There’s more, after the meeting things got a little tense. Check out these two videos from Fox29. One has reporters following Councilman Goode peppering him with questions about the incident, and the other has Cole trying to get an interview with Bryant and Goode getting a little defensive with the reporter. I think that she should be fired. How inappropriate for her to hold up hand made signs during a city meeting??? is this what our money is going to? some one like this should not be employed by the city.. i am disgusted that she is spending time that she is “working” doing personal things …fire her asap!

I don’t understand why a council staffer makes $90,000 a year and a council member makes 100K a year. Goode and his staff need to go.

This is our City Council at work? How dare she play a race card for unethical work practices. The city should fire her immediately. This total insubordination for a city employee. Wilson Goode, Jr. is worse for protecting her. I say the news should come out that this is his girlfriend and the reason why he made those comments to the reporter.

When I first saw this story, I just thought about how ill conceived Latrice’s strategy was. If she is trying to go on the offense an attack Fox29 it didn’t work. Because until Thursday I hadn’t seen Fox29’s coverage of Latrice and Wilson carrying beer into the councilman’s house. I am now aware of it. Also since Latrice used a sign with the letters KKK on it, I have to agree with the earlier comments that Latrice is playing the race card. What evidence does she have that Fox29 is specifically following her around because she is a black employee. Latrice has made this a bigger story than it had to be.

I think that Latrice Bryant is a very intelligent, beautiful woman who was pushed to the limit by aggressive reporters. She is a well respected community leader, city employee and friend.
Fox reporters were following her on numerous occassions and she made others aware of this. Although she asked them to stop they did not until this happened. It’s unfortunate that she had to resort to this to get them off her back !

This is very disturbing to me ! Are you attacking this woman because she makes $90K and is 36 years of age. Is this a case of age discrimination as well? Sure signs were bizarre but are we both judge and jury of her? It is so typical that people in this city do not want people under 40 to make a decent salary even when they are qualified. I know staffers in council that make more than $90k and make more than the council people that they work for. Being 31 years of age would I be subjected to this if I made over $80K in this city as well? I say if the woman is doing the job who cares what she makes? Why is her salary such a factor because she is a woman or because she is African-American? Isn’t this what Sen. Obama is taking about equal pay for women in the workplace. I’m sure the men around her make more than her… Maybe that would be something good to investigate Fox 29 !

Her salary is not the main factor. She was on the clock, being paid with TAXPAYER money. She was followed because of a tip from someone who said she signs in repeatedly for when she is not at work.
They observed that, and also what she was doing while on the tax payers dime - going to the gym, shopping, taking care of personal details, coming OUT OF GOODE’s residence at 11:30 AM, when she went in the night before, going in his home on another day, during the work day with a case of beer.
You cannot tell me that this should be paid by the taxpayer.
And Alan how intelligent is she when she conducts herself in such a way, while being paid from the tax payers hard earned money.
And if she is a “community leader”, take note, no leader should act like this.
Also Melissa you need to look at the tapes, you are being misled. You are either niave or a fred of this thief
And they should investigate something in additional to Ms. Bryant, and that would be Wilson Goode Jr

Goode responded and said ” Don’t ever disrespect a black women” Why did he say black? Black has nothing to do with it. Why is the Black man always bringing color into it? Latrice is the racist in this situation. I think I am going to start a new TV station and call it WET, White Entertainment Television.

At the risk of angering everyone here - I’m tired of all the racial politics in Philly. It’s distracting, detracting, and it accomplishes nothing but division and more racism and hatred.
Philly has enough problems and has disintegrated enough without semantics and all this extra junk being added to it - and politicians who should know better. And no - I’m no fan of Wilson Goode Jr. with his recent antics - I think the whole set-up is a mess. But to bring up the race card is not the answer. From what I’ve read, they have violated ethics and gotten paid for time they haven’t worked, and been “AWOL” - that’s grounds for firing.
Philly can be bigger than this. We can be better than this. It doesn’t always have to come down to who’s white, who’s black, who’s Latino, who’s Asian, who’s green, who is yellow with purple polka-dots - why does race always have to matter? Cripes - we all bleed RED, people!! Get over it, already!

Obviously James does not even understand his own recent history… if this was supposed to be a shot at BET you have to remember that less that 50 years ago Blacks were not allowed in some parts of town, school, and colleges and even on main stream entertainment. Blacks were not featured on TV. BET, Black colleges, Black clubs; churches came up because there was no other place to go!!! GENEIOUS

From the Mafia’s control of all of union business with the City to Mansions built for Mayors with Tax Dollars. To Cops getting Kick backs. It is amazing..Now a City official Clocked out early. Oh Damn.. Wow a politician having an affair. That is stupid too. But Who Cares …Right now We have 2 wars in the country’s financial situation very bad and FOX 29 FOXXX 29 is doing.
