Jury selection for Vince Fumo’s trial on-hold till Oct 20

Thursday, September 18th, 2008 at 7:19 am - by Matt Campbell. Filed under: Courts, Politics.

Due to the illness of Federal Judge William Yohn , jury selection will not resume until Monday, October 20th. This five-week break means that the man on trial Pennsylvania State Senator can, as he did this week, resume his legislative duties in Harrisburg. He had said earlier in the summer that he would not return to the senate when the Fall session began because of his trial. The Senate’s fall schedule is short. Eight session days left before the November 4th election. The South Philadelphia legislative has been charged with illegally using state money for his own benefit.
