Elizabeth Edwards speaks for first time publicly since news of John Edward’s affair

Elizabeth Edwards is set to speak publicly for the first time since her husband publicly admitted to an extramarital affair that took place shortly before he began his second bid for the presidency.
Edwards is scheduled to speak 6:30pm today about health care at the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia. She plans to assess the health care policies of the presidential candidates.
Neither she nor husband John have spoken publicly since he acknowledged in August that he had an affair with a woman hired to produce videos of him in 2006. The two-time Democratic presidential candidate has canceled all events until after the election, saying he doesn’t want to be a distraction to his party’s ticket.
