Renters Beware

Tuesday, September 9th, 2008 at 10:50 pm - by Stephanie Marudas. Filed under: Uncategorized.

Bugs in the cabinets. Mold on the walls. Water damage. These are just some of the things you’re going to see in a video we’re rolling out tomorrow about Philadelphia renters living in places found to have housing code violations. We decided to cover the issue after learning that Philadelphia has suspended a law to make sure renters don’t encounter these very things. So tune in tomorrow to find out why the city stopped enforcing the rental suitability law this past spring. All viewpoints are represented. You’ll hear from renters, a tenants’ rights orgnization, a prominent landlord association in town, and the Mayor’s Office.
