DNC will provide spotlight to only a small number of Philadelphia-area politicians

Monday, August 25th, 2008 at 6:39 am - by Matt Campbell. Filed under: Politics.

The Philadelphia region’s most high profile contribution to the Democratic National Convention will, of course, be his democratic vice presidential nominee Delaware U.S. Senator Joeseph Biden. But a few regional politicans will get a chance at the national spotlight including Pennsylvania Governor Ed Rendell. Here’s a quick guide for some of the key speakers scheduled to speak in Denver. WHYY-TV will provide live prime-time coverage of the convention each evening at 8pm.

Today – Michelle Obama and Jimmy Carter

Tuesday – Hillary Clinton, PA Gov Ed Rendell, PA U.S. Senator Bob Casey, Jr

Wednesday – Vice Presidential nominee Delaware U.S. Senator Joseph Biden, Pennsylvania Congressman Patrick Murphy, Former President Bill Clinton, Massachusetts U.S. Senator John Kerry

Thursday, Barack Obama, Former VP Al Gore
