Eastern State Penitentiary
Eastern State Penitentiary hosts its annual "Terror Behind the Walls," the massive haunted house inside a prison, open through the weekend after Halloween on Fairmount Avenue in Philadelphia. The historic detention center, kept in "preserved ruin," provides the perfect ominous appearance and gloomy atmosphere for authentic Halloween fun.

The 28th Annual Highlands Craft Show is this weekend, October 17-18, with juried artists exhibiting jewelry, ceramics, clothing, and much more at the Highlands Mansion and Gardens, 7001 Sheaff Lane, Fort Washington, PA.


The Bucks County Pumpkinfest is this Saturday & Sunday, October 17-18, from noon-9pm, rain or shine, with live entertainment, children's activities, the pumpkin gallery and more, on the grounds of the historic Moravian Pottery and Tile Works on Route 313 in Doylestown, PA.


The annual Country Living Fair will be held this Sunday, October 18 at Batsto Village, 10am-4pm, with exhibits, music, crafts, antiques, children's activities and more, in the Wharton State Forest in the South Central pinelands of NJ.


The 12th annual FirstGlance Film Festival, Philadelphia's Independent Film Festival, kicks off Thursday, October 22 with screenings, a "Shot in Philly" category, and much more through October 25, at the Prince Music Theater, 1412 Chestnut Street, Philadelphia.


On view at the Schuylkill Center for Environmental Education is "Down to Earth: Artists Create Edible Landscapes," an exhibition highlighting the growing focus and emergence of "green" principles and sustainability in relationship to food, art, design & agriculture, through November 23 at Port Royal Avenue & Hagy's Mill Road, Philadelphia.
