Associate Producer/Reporter, Health & Science Desk

A fulltime, grant funded opportunity for an individual with two years experience researching and reporting spot news - for television, radio and web distribution. The ideal candidate will possess a degree in a related discipline, have strong research, web content and editing skills. Previous experience in a multi-media environment is a must. This position will also be responsible for assisting in the creation and execution of live panel discussions. Interested applicant must send a writing sample along with their resume and cover letter. Direct Marketing Coordinator

A wonderful opportunity for a marketing professional, with at least three years marketing experience, to join WHYY's Membership Division. In order to be successful in this position, an individual should have experience working in an environment with an e-commerce retail component, proficiency with relational databases as well as other software packages, and the ability to "think outside the box" in regard to e-commerce and electronic direct marketing campaigns. Strong organizational skills, the ability to succesfully manage multiple projects and a sense of humor round out the requirements for this position. FM Broadcast Technician

This is a temporary, seven-month position, specifically tasked to an audio archiving project. Responsibilities include CD copying, file transfer to a local network server and database entry. The successful candidate will be a detail-oriented self-starter familiar with basic audio quality control, Digital Audio Workstation software, file management and associated best practices. Proficiency with Digidesign ProTools, Toast, Apple Mac OSX, Microsoft Windows and Excel a plus. 4/28/08 IBEW


Graphic and Multimedia Designer

WHYY has an exciting opportunity for an experienced graphic designer to join its Design team to effectively brand WHYY through all available multimedia outlets and to support production of video content. In order to be successful in this position, an individual must possess a minimum of three to five years professional experience in Graphic Design; knowledge of video design and commonly used software such as Avid and/or Final Cut Pro; extensive previous experience with print production techniques and knowledge of TV production. In addition to a Bachelor's degree in a related discipline, the successful candidate will be able to manage multiple projects, possess well-defined communication skills in addition to superb organizational skills, and have the ability to to produce quality work in a hectic, deadline driven environment. Sr. Reporter, Behavioral Science Desk

A new, full-time, grant-funded opportunity for an experienced reporter to prepare and deliver stories on behavioral science topics. This position will be responsible for preparing and delivering stories on radio, television and web, in addition to moderating public panel discussions. The ideal candidate will have three to four years reporting experience, familiarity with behavioral science topics, well-developed writing and production skills, previous experience with live presentations, both on-air and in person and experience working with multi-platform formats. In order to be successful in this position, an individual must be highly organized, have prior experience supervising a staff and must be able to work well with a variety of people. A Bachelor's degree in a related discipline is a must. Interested individuals must send a sample of their on-air work along with resume and cover letter. Grade I 3/21/08


Web Developer, Health & Science Desk

A part-time (minimum 20 hours/week) position for an individual with two years experience in web-based communication or content management. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of standards-compliant HTML, CSS and Javascript, in addition to previous experience working with CGI, PERL, PHP and web databases. To be successful in this position, an individual must be a self-starter who can also work well within a group. Strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills are needed. A Bachelor's degree is preferred.
