Chris Wierchowski's Tangy Sports Man Mushrooms

For this recipe you will need:

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds large mushroom (about 18-20
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 1/4 cup chopped onions
  • 1/2 pound ground sausage
  • 1 3 ounce package cream cheese, softened
  • 2/3 cup Jack Daniel's Original No 7 Barbecue Recipe Sauce
  • 1/4 cup Steak Sauce
  • 1/4 grated Parmesan Cheese

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Remove stems from mushrooms and chop, leaving caps intact. Melt butter in a medium skillet and brush the caps. Set aside. Add in remaining butter over medium heat and saute mushroom stems, onions and sausauge until fully cooked.

Mix the cream cheese, barbecue sauce, and steak sauce into the sausage mixture. Heat, stirring constantly until the cream cheese is melted.

Spoon the warm sausage mixture into the mushroom caps. Arrange in a shallow pan and sprinkle with cheese.

Bake 8 to 12 minutes.

Makes about 20 appies.
