Halloween Candied Apples
For this recipe you will need:
- 6 medium apples
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 2 cups corn syrup
- 1 cup water
- 1/3 cup cinnamon candies
- 3/4 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
- 3/4 teaspoon red food coloring
Skewer apples with wooden sticks and place on sprayed baking sheet. Combine sugar, corn syrup, candies, and water in a sauce pan. Stir over low heat until dissolved. Add cinnamon, vanilla and 3/4 teaspoon red food coloring. Bring to a boil without stirring. When at 300 degrees using a candy thermometer, remove from heat and dip each apple into mixture until coated. cool on baking sheet until mixture is hardened and at room temperature before eating.
